Hello and thank you for your reply. Yes, I heard about Zone and I also heard about Melody House records shop that was promoting Italian imports in North West England. Obviously, I've never been there, but I listened many tapes (here on Mixcloud and elsewhere) from their mid 90s venues. I still need to catch up with the earlier stuff from this place.
To be honest, Italian House was never popular where I lived. I grew up and lived in Poland in the 90s, and when I get into music, It was I believe 1992 or maybe 1993, Poland was just emerging from the Iron Curtain of Soviet Union and western music was something, that majority of young people, had never a chance to discover. Even myself I was into Punk and Rock before I shifted my interest into mid 90s electronic music (Euro/Italodance).
Later on, I learned that UK DJs were the ones who mostly played and promoted this style in Europe. Also, Italian House ( years 1989-1992) was hugely popular in Brazil. Over the years of collecting records, I met some people who still mix and joy this music. Though, some give up and stop making mixes.
I would say this style is still very much so alive within 40+/50 people, who were at that time part of this culture. You're so fortunate to be a part of this. A very short, yet not fruitless, living club scene when music was always placed at the top. Many people miss this time, therefore, they listen this music. It takes them back to their teenage years, first parties etc.
Italian House (as a music style) in my opinion, is very specific. It contains lots of sampled material, as well as inspiration of Italo Disco music. You can hear similarities, if you start listening this music frequently. It also has a nice na positive vibe inspired by funk music. Obviously, pianos and instrumental pads are a leading instruments and, occasionally, a male rap is added to wrap up the production.
I am glad that You still like this style. Music is a therapy. If it makes you happy, don't stop, but enjoy. Vinyl is still alive, vinyl is real and a part of the music history. Vinyl has a charm and nostalgia that cannot be replaced by simple file on a hard drive.

I am getting older every year, and I appreciate Italo House style even more this time. I like the way you mix music. It's pretty much the way I would mix. The mix should have a sense, and not just a well known 'tunes' in it. It's a skill to play a mix with a lesser known tunes making it sounding great, but most people are interest only in well know songs... Well, maybe I'm different? Let me ask you, do you still mix? And do you have any plans to upload more sets here? Thx
I'm exactly the same my friend, I'm lucky to have this music in my life, it lifts my spirits, I started collecting Italian House in 91/92, I used to go to Zone back then and used to get most on my vinyl from Debbie/Phil at melody house - (Promoters for Zone), I have been hooked on this genre ever since going to Jenks bar in Blackpool. I still mix and collect to this day, when I get time I'll upload some more content. Keep the vinyl alive!!!
