Middle Eastern Madness

It was during the Arab Spring in 2011 while watching and listening to the amazing stories of protest coming from the Middle East that I felt inspired to do a mix.Protesting has been a part of my life from an early age with my parents taking me on the CND marches in London during the 80’s carrying on with my teenage years going to all of the Criminal Justice Bill marches in London during the 90’s.The CJB for those of you that don’t know was the Government's answer to the increasing popularity of dance music culture and the rise of the Free Party and Festival scene here in Britain,effectively criminalising a huge part of the population that wanted to do little more than dance and have a good time in a field far away from corporate sponsorship or government interfering.So I dug into my record collection and pulled out as many tunes as I could find with a little Middle Eastern flavour and put together this Mix,it is not much but it is an homage to protesters and the downtrodden everywhere.
