As regular listeners to our posts will know, we occasionally make mistakes (normally as a result of being over-worked and under-funded!), but we attempt to recitify the mistakes as soon as they are spotted.
Unfortunately, some errors have slipped into our 80s charts, when the BBC decided to broadcast the chart, live, when it was released by the chart company in October 1987. This meant that the week ending October 4th chart was never broadcast, and the broadcast on that day was for the forthcoming week. This made sense at the time, but it does mean that for the past six months, our charts have been a week out! We have now attempted to correct this by explaining in the comments section, when the chart was broadcast and what period it covers, but this has meant adding in an additional chart and changing the dating on those shows. Rather than spend many hours re-recording those existing shows, we hope you'll be happy with this compromise? All other charts prior to October 4th 1987 remain accurate, and future charts (from 17th April) will be as intended for the Sunday shows.
