This week we learnt that BMG have bought up the Skint Records back catalogue and the label as was will be moving gracefully into retirement.
Basically without Skint I would not be the breakbeat nut I am now, and probably wouldn't be mixing. I was OBSESSED with Skint in my late teenage years, buying everything they released from about 1996-2000, and that back catalogue still stands up today as some of the most inventive, varied and above all fun dance music ever produced.
This is an hour of Skint's greatest hits and some of my all time favourite tunes on the label. Hope it's a fitting tribute to Brighton's finest.

Wow, wish I would have heard of Skint sooner. I think Funk to Funk was my favorite. I love that junglely snare on a funky groove
Amazing label. Think over in the US a lot of Skint stuff came out through Astralwerks if you're looking to track any bits down

Reliably informed that the Skint offices are closing this week, and BMG have bought up the back catalogue. Maybe some nice reissues!
