Barry Myers presents a ‘Gangster of Love’ look back on some of the music he spun between 1972 and 1975 on URW, University Radio Warwick, as RAW was known back then. Leaving Warwick in the summer of ’75, he returned to London and began to DJ in the dives of the capital. Caught up in the punk explosion, he went on to become better known as DJ Scratchy whilst touring with the Clash from ’78 to ’80. Over the past two decades Scratchy Sounds has toured with Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros, The Pogues and Gogol Bordello and gone on to gig, in his own right, in clubs and festivals across the globe. More info can be found on his website scratchysounds.co.uk and you can hear his shows of The Rock and The Roll of The World on mixcloud.com/scr_snds/
