Why Is Improvising Important? - 20th December 2018 (Marek Tuszynski)

The London Improvisers Orchestra is now 20 years old. LIO member and conductor Caroline Kraabel speaks to people who improvise in music, visual art, dance, politics and religion, as well as in life. This week’s guest is Marek Tuszynski, co-founder of the Tactical Technology Collective, a Berlin-based non-profit organisation working at the intersection of technology, human rights and civil liberties. They provide trainings, conduct research and create cultural interventions that contribute to the wider socio-political debate around digital security, privacy and the ethics of data. Their work has enabled activists to improvise using technology, while remaining aware of its dangers and possibilities.
