The third of three shows looking at radio pioneer, composer, poet and anti-fascist Ernst Schoen – drawing on the book by co-presenters Sam Dolbear and Esther Leslie: Dissonant Waves: Ernst Schoen and Experimental Sound in the Twentieth Century. The third show explores themes of exile and estrangement through the fervid dreams of a low-level BBC employee in the immediate post-war years, with special guest Owen Hatherley, author of the recently published The Alienation Effect: How Central European Émigrés Transformed the British Twentieth Century.
