DVD presents Crazy Stitch | Crazy Stitch with Guest Mix from Mr Pickle (Dollar Pickle Records)
This week's Stitch includes a guest mix from Mr Pickle from North Kerry’s Dollar Pickle Records. One of Ireland’s finest labels, DPR brings its brand of ‘culchie surrealism’ to the world, with long epochal track titles, genre pile-ups and strictly observed manifesto rules. As ever I’ll be playing my own 'no rules' selections too.
DVD’s Crazy Stitch knits together a load of (mainly) contemporary music styles (drill/grime, club, folk, sound art, electronica, rap, RnB, dancehall, noise, drone, ambient and global) into a (occasionally successful/coherent) 2 hour sonic collage.
Previously, he ran the Dirty Canvas grime nights, set up the No Hats No Hoods grime label and ran Centrum Gallery in Berlin. He’s also recently got around to making his own collage-based music compositions.
