The T.A.M.I. Show was the ultimate concert of 1964 and quickly became one of the all time great concert films. Look at that lineup! Everybody was there. The Santa Monica Civic Auditorium was jammed with screamy high schoolers who had been given free tickets and go-go dancers covered the stage and the Supremes on top of the world with three number one singles that year and Marvin so resplendently cool in a white tuxedo and The Rolling Stones shitting their pants because they had to close out the show, immediately following James Brown whose big choreography with the Famous Flames and wild footwork put the young upstarts to shame. It’s all there.
