Beth Orton: A Collection

Beth Orton: A Collection

00:00

Beth Orton’s first forays into the music world were via ambient/electronica specialists William Orbit & The Chemical Brothers utilizing her ethereal vocals. In 1993 in Japan she released Superpinkymandy (a collaboration with Orbit). That was followed 3 years later by Orton’s first full album Trailer Park which received tremendous critical acceptance. 97 saw her release the more soulful Best Bit EP aided by the legendary Terry Callier. It was quickly followed by Central Reservation which leads to a coining of the phrase ‘Folktronic’, it also garnered her a Brit award. Daybreak & Comfort Of Strangers followed to less critical praise & then after a 6-year gap & nearly quitting music she released the excellent Sugaring Season. May sees a return to electronica & the release of Kidsticks. Hope you enjoy.

Well spotted Andy, obviously a man of taste, glad you enjoyed it. There is a John Martyn mix in there somewhere.
