@FFS 2014

A recap of the dj-set I played at opening night of a Latin, African and Asian oriented film festival. To counter the small selection of African films in the festival's programme (surely there must be a lot to be uncovered on that big continent, after all it's more than thirty years since Ousman Sembene had his heyday) African music is heavily represented in the mix. It's not all African though. The Indian masala apetizer gives way to classic Walter OST material and then there's some film inspired funk. Also included are a couple of tracks I'm guessing must have been played at Club 7, Oslo's answer to Studio 54, back in the 70's by Arne Bendiksen and Sultana, the veracity of which I'm only guessing as I wasn't born then. Finishing off comes a small section of salsa-not-salsa, before the spanking new Norwegian boogie-tune. It's all vinyl of course.
