Iβm very happy to present a very special session to you. This is a DJ recording of one of my sessions from a Techno party that took place 25 years ago. Thanks to the fantastic support of Dan aka Pure_Analog (https://www.mixcloud.com/Pure_Analog/), who mastered this 25-year-old session after I found it on a CD, Iβm now able to share this little piece of history from my active DJ career with you. This is what my live sets sounded like back then. Wilder, faster and harder when mixing π

@Phil_Moreno This was an amazing journey Phil! Your vinyl mixing is amazing and so are your track selections! This mix reminded me of the early Global Underground sound. It has that progressive house sound with that tribal element. @Pure_Analog did an amazing job with the mastering! It sounds amazing! π₯π

Hi Phil (and Pure_Analog), what a precious gem you dug up here! You could have fooled me if youβd told me this was your latest set, it sounds absolutely timeless.
I bet you still enjoyed listening back to this one yourself after all these years. And when you go back in your memory to that event and look out at the crowd in front of the booth: Iβm the one bopping my head to the rhythm and watching your skills on the turntables closely :-).
Great set, enjoyed every bar of it (and loved the Depeche Mode remix).

Dear Dan, thank you so much for breathing new life into these 25-year-old sessions with your mastering. The CD was in pretty rough shape, and the sound qualityβespecially towards the end of the recordingβwas unfortunately beyond saving; however, the first sixty-plus minutes now sound wonderful again. Dear Phil, this set is a gem that has brought back wonderful memories of my early years as a DJ and of other times spent in clubs like Space of Sound in Madrid, with that tribal progressive sound of artists like Peter Rauhofer, Victor Calderone, the inexhaustible Danny Tenaglia, and other Spanish artists like Chus & Ceballos (who pioneered the Iberian Sound). Our beloved Depeche Mode were also present, and the closing set of old-school techouse and techno just made me want to relive those times. Dear Valentino, thank you so much for your great feedback and all the interesting details. The sound back then was harder, faster, and louder, sometimes leaning more towards techno. The tech-house floors were essentially a blend of techno and tech-house. There are many tracks from that era that feel a bit too wild for me now, but at the time, they fit perfectly.
