Again there is a special day in the calendar, a cute one: Windmill Day. The National Windmill Day is celebrated on the second Saturday of May every year. This year, it falls on May 11th, which is today. Of course windmills have a rather meadowy unspoiled countryside romantic feel, which is quite the opposite of the dark futuristic green-glowing Borg-cube aesthetic that many of us like. Whether you are into cottagecore (an aesthetic that celebrates simple living, particularly in the countryside) or contrasting styles like Gothic or cyberpunk, windmills are cool locations for memorable events. As a city girl I do not so much take a romanticized view of country and cottage living, but I like old windmills. And given a proper sound system and a pair of decks, it is much fun to send some moving bass into the woodwork and make the planks vibrate while the stars are twinkling in the sky ...
