Party Time 089
Cloudy beatlessness, a few new indiepop selections, dub and gabber, post punk and noise rock, tight dancefloor-ready meanderings and a couple of Osmonds bangers to finish. I like that this one has no intro (it just starts) and no outro (it just stops).
Highlights: Burial again (he’s reached a new peak IMO) doing the spooky haunted nightclub thing, Junk Drawer with the cutest little janglepop song for ages, the slow but huge gabber of Detest & Tripped, Nicfit with probably the best skronky grungy type thing for a long time, Thundercat’s cyberpunk contribution to The Book Of Boba Fett score.
Ends on The Osmonds and an Osmonds cover by the great Alex Harvey. I got a bit obsessed with them recently. I’m a little bit country and a little bit rock’n’roll.
