Party Time 073

Decided for this one to just hoy together a bunch of random stuff I’m currently enjoying without thinking about it then shuffle the order after hitting my length limit (all my mixes are 79 minutes unmixed). Went weirdly well. There are tracks here that wouldn’t normally get an airing (which is nice!) and even a semblance of some themes (gypsy music, Maxine Peake monologues, corny pop, whatever grunge, break and mashup wormholes I was going down).

Highlights: The incredible Wet Specimen from New Zealand. Absolutely red raw, steamy shit that conjures Killdozer and Life Without Buildings in a single sweep. Secondly, The Muslims: best album heard for ages, every single track catchy and funny and clever, the type of inclusion that annoys because there are a dozen more which couldn’t be included. The Record Store Day reissue of Republica’s album which I used to bang on cassette. Two breakcore beauties from the interesting Tough Shit. And a WAP mashup (good luck finding a bad one).
