Party Time 047
This was at the beginning of the lockdown when I was furloughed and spending my days walking a baby buggy round and round deserted South London side streets. It fed into the general vibe here no doubt. Obviously had time to find loads and loads of sick breakcore around the time as well.
Highlights: An emotional one-two punch of hope and despair from Kill The Giants and Shana Falana, one of the most interesting break-based tracks I've ever heard from Zebra Katz and one of the most intricate from Dwarde & Tim Reaper, a couple of juicy morsels from Batov's Middle Eastern Funk 7" series (Cherry Bandora and Sababa 5) and some luscious neon-lit hip-hop courtesy of Jah Wobble & GZ Tian.
As we come slowly out of this mess is it interesting to look back at how it began? Not really - maybe one day many years from now though...
