Party Time 002

Revisiting PT2 this week and PT1 next. Reminds me why I started this pointless / fun habit: I was out of touch with new music. Due to various anxieties I needed a focus so two problems were combined.

PT2 is a more chilled affair. It was boiling weather and on weekends I would go out at the crack of dawn to listen to music before the sun came back out. Hence the reclined, melty vibes.

Highlights: The cool, slow-building ANMLPLNT, cocky NY rapper Wiki, Tommy Cash’s hilarious lyrics, the lolloping drawl of Lolina, a hair-raiser from the heroic Sophie, a game show theme by Dream Themes (formerly the Oh Blimey Big Band), next-level juke courtesy of RP Boo, the human hurricane Carla Bozulich pinning you down, a pop-perfect Olivia Newton John cover from Julianna Hatfield, stunning stuff by Callie Ryan which puts singer-songwriter and hip-hop techniques in a blender and something complimentary by the powerful Eartheater. Loads more electronic tinkering and danceable garage rock besides.
