an extra special selection Rubèn! I so enjoyed this from start to finish! - exquisite examplea of flamenco and great parallels and influenced/inflected pieces from the jazz and rock genres; a rewarding listen. I need to return, so I can make notes and research a lot of the artists more. cheers sincerely ans happy remains of Sunday to you, P🥭🙏🎸

Rubén Balbuena

Thank you so much for the feedback. I'm sure you'll find beautiful and profound music. Cheers !👌💫🎈

Really loving this. As a fan, but not an aficionado, I have a very soft spot for Flamenco. I was born in Rota, so that makes me a Gaditano macho 😁. I renewed my love for Flamenco on a trip to Sevilla a couple of years ago. This is great and giving me more places to look for more music. Thank you.

Rubén Balbuena

I'm glad it was helpful. Thanks for the feedback. ✨👌

Wonderful. Cheers, Rubén!

"The center of flamenco dance and deep singing is an erotic event. Sensuality restrained by faith, but sublimated by a mystical dream." (Carlos Fuentes, El espejo enterrado) 💃🏼🎶🔥 Beautiful session, thank you Rubén 🌟

Rubén Balbuena

Thank you, zvonimir. Flamenco is a truly authentic art form. The depth of the singing is a way to express a complex, sometimes marginalized, existence, first accepted, and then externalized with conviction. Its evolution and fusion with other artistic paths has generated an astonishing array of originality rooted in its origins.
Thanks for the support !! 💃 💫

I can't believe that 50 years have passed since I I first listened to Paco de Lucia (thanks to my beloved father, who introduced me to the magical world of music...) Thanks dear Ruben!!! ❤️

@PRBP life goes in circles... I ve listened to many different music styles dear Ruben in these 55years...Sometimes I am obsessed with classical, some other with rock, Jazz, ethnic, etc... I love new discoveries and surprises in music... This jazz piano track at the end of your session fascinated me! Many thanks!🙌🎹🖤

Thanks for a great flamenco listen! I was interrupted early on while listening to this some time back and it got lost in the shuffle. Very happy to get back to it and enjoy it, especially because I'm putting together some flamenco after seeing a great flamenco dance performance here recently. I'd love to see a playlist and was especially curious about one with a woman's vocal that started at about 30 minutes in.

Rubén Balbuena

Thank you for listening and for the feedback. The voice you mention seems to refer to Lole, who, along with Manuel, has been a fundamental duo in the evolution of flamenco due to their incorporation and fusion with other genres. The beginning of nuevo flamenco in the 70s. 🙏👌
