Living Christmas

Throughout the 60's and through most of the 70's, legendary RCA Records producer Ethel Gabriel created a fabulous series of recordings for the budget RCA Camden label (which she also created) that would later be known as the "Living" Series. This series included The Living Strings, The Living Voices, The Living Trio, The Living Guitars, The Living Brass, The Living Marimbas, The Living Jazz, The Living Percussion and The Living Organ. Some of the Beautiful Music genre's most talented arrangers, conductors and musicians were brought on board for these sessions including Johnny Douglas, Anita Kerr, organist Dick Hyman, guitarist Al Caiola, Bernard Ebbinghouse, Geraldo...even Juan Garcia Esquivel took a turn, albeit uncredited.

Four of these groups - The Living Strings, The Living Voices, The Living Trio, and The Living Guitars - released Christmas albums on Camden between 1962 and 1978. This "Living" Mix is a cross-section of those great holiday albums. Merry Christmas!
