London Based Dj/Producer Francesca comes back to the station with the second instalment of her monthly show Architextures. In her show she will explore music as an immaterial form of artistic expression, basing her mixes on different artistic and architectural movements. In today’s episode she inspired herself on kineticism or kinetic art, an international movement that refers to art of both real and apparent motion created between 1920 and 1970. Partly to explore the possibilities of movement, partly to institute the element of time, partly to reflect the importance of the machine and technology within the modern world and partly to explore the nature of vision.
Light and sound effects were used to distort the viewer's perceptions, and convert the work’s originally static form into a geometric and interactive experience traversing sensory boundaries. This mix explores perceptions and abstractions of space and movement within soundscapes.
