Those commercials are from the last days of their disco. I figured people outside of the midwest USA would get a kick out of them. They were clearly ready to say anything at that point to get shopper's attention. And despite the similarity to Walmart, K-Marts originally did not have a grocery, making them a true department store, but it's probably what killed them...
For the historians of the future, there's something one of the guys says really fast. He says something like "K-Mart Supercenter Members." K-Mart Supercenters had groceries. They tried to upgrade some stores in the late 90s, but I don't think they did it fast enough. I thought they died out a decade ago, but apparently the last full size K-Mart closed at the end of 2024, but don't worry...
