Africanisms 17

Africanisms 17

Chart positions

This show was 1st in the global groove chart, 3rd in the global funk chart, 3rd in the global funk - soul - jazz chart, 3rd in the global afrobeat chart and 3rd in the global eclectic chart.

Welcome to Volume 17 of my Africanisms series, what a fantastic and ever evolving journey it continues to be.

In this mix I slowly work the groove up and up, so by the end of it we're on the dance floor! This is another exploration of both new and old sounds, that shake the ground and add yet another layer to the deepness of the music both out of and inspired by the continent of Africa.

I hope you dig this one as much as the previous 16 mixes in the series and if you do, you know what to do, click share, repost and leave a comment right down there!

Afro is still a bit of an unfamiliar genre to me, yes I have some afro stuff but not that much. I always discover new stuff in these kind of mixes and that's what makes it very interesting. Enjoyed this very much and gets me inspired to dig again in this genre.

Dj Mr Lob

Thanks mate, I'm glad you liked it and it is a genre well worth exploring. Both Jazzcat and I have put out a lot of Afro sessions and I have learnt form him and others in the process of collecting myself. More to come in they series also...
