I’m very like-minded with you on DL; their magic started fading after Hysteria (I hypothesize that this fading is in direct correlation to Joe’s aging vocal chords).
Dig the Helmet refresh; their album from 2016 had some interesting tunes (although heavy in a different way). Glad you included the Zep refresh as well; worked well to “Bring It On Home” (“It” being your friend’s comments regarding that influence for Helmet).
Good to know M&S have more to them than what they let on…

I always enjoy the deep dives and the puzzles you present. I think a lot of the single-genre podcasts and radio shows are missing out on this, but it is not easy to track a target audience, I guess. I know for a fact that everybody in my drum school when I was growing up, had very similar mixes - all styles, because moods and learning from musicians never follow the same path all the time.
