You approach an intersection and the light turns yellow. This light is ever so brief and gives us a glimpse of the human condition. For green and red lights, you don’t need to make any decisions. Well, you could choose to stop at a green or plough through a red but that’s inadvisable for reasons I shouldn’t have to articulate.
We can make large, sweeping judgements about the overall character of a driver at a yellow light. Someone could be lazy, laid-back, high, geriatric if they stop too soon OR impatient, self-absorbed and a piece of shit ruining society if they step on the gas at the last millisecond. From behind, we can’t see anyone’s face nor do we know their exact circumstance, but we can enjoy assuming they’re terrible people. If others are trying to turn left and you prevent them from doing so, you ARE a piece of shit and I hope you get a flat tire or a truck knocks off your side view mirror.
