This started off as basically an accidental Jazzman/Popcorn Records tribute. A road trip to our family's countryside home was afoot and Jimmy needed some vinyl digitized and some golden oldies to be part of that excursion. It just so happened that half of the tunes were from Jazzman and it's affiliates, which is one of my favourite labels on this here Earth.
In addition, the local "hipster" caffeine dispensary was pumping 'Down in Mexico' by The Coasters when I went there last to fetch some beans. I haven't been able to get it out of my noggin, so it's stuffed in the mix.
There are also contributions from other favourite re-issue labels like Tramp out of Germany & Luv N' Haight (Ubiquity repress label) out of San Fransisco. There's probably something Keb Darge related in here too. The Legendary Wild Rockers series has many notable gems.
muchos gracias, nos vemos pronto
