An irregular update of new additions to my playlist, with something of an aural world tour going on this month:
New discoveries include Said the Whale from Vancouver, ALMA from my trip to Bulgaria, Electro duo The Presets from Sydney and the African sounds of Amadou & Mariam from Mali. There's the welcome return of Austria's Bilderbuch, Glasgows Mungo's Hi -Fi Sound System bring us some "Amsterdam" vibes, and Atlanta's Mattiel sings “I don’t know myself” in French.We even travel to the moon with Public Service Broadcasting (and DJ Shadow) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landings.
Returning Favourites include: Brittany Howard, Foals, YACHT, Two Door Cinema Club, Spector and a few tracks from the new Chali 2na & Krafty Kuts album. Other new discoveries include the latest saviours of UK Indie Sports Team, Marika Hackman and Fat White Family.
