Rock & Roll didn’t, and doesn’t, appear out of nowhere. There are many genres, cultures, histories, and ironically traditions that came before and continue to exert influence. These influences contain various threads that I’ll follow each week to reveal connections and relationships between the popular music of today and the music of other times and places. The first show doesn't delve into anything too specific, but gives a rough idea of some of the types of music that show will explore.
