A totally naff mix and all the better for it. As the Breakdance phenomenon exploded across Europe in the early to mid-eighties, many a record label sought to cash in on the craze, often using session musicians and un-credited producers to try and recreate an authentic Electro sound. These tracks were packaged on LP's that offered body-popping and breakdance tutorials. Some even came with a free poster.
It's easy now with to navigate through all the established and 'authentic' channels of Hip Hop Culture, but to a nation of European teenagers back in 1984, a 'teach yourself to Breakdance' LP was a worthy purchase on a Saturday morning.
