Very chilled and enjoyable, like an iced coffee! Good work! 🧊☕️
Thanks Lofty!
Lovely playlist. Glad I did get this ticket ; )
Thanks Magda. Enjoyed your Female Jazz Composers (12) set as well - also with Rosie Turton and Allysha Joy. Hive mind!
P.S. ...but should have said that your set was an education because there were also plenty of people in it that I'd never heard. Will definitely check out more in your FJC series.
Wonderful sultry sounds.
Thanks. Your last Interlude session was intriguing, as ever. Pretty sure that I could have guessed that was your set, sight unseen, because I never hear anyone else on Mixcloud putting together music quite the way that you do.
great set & really lovely selections Brett - enjoyed the soul/R&B elements (as with the content of #3) and great to hear Antonio C Jobim and Stereolab as part of the flow (in fact that track is from my all time favourite Stereolab album, so a definite shoe-in with me).
artfully mixed & very nicely chilled for a hot day here. P🙏😊
bonus point: fortunate to be able to follow the recommendation and am now listening to:
https://www.mixcloud.com/Furio_Frakes/jazz-for-nighthawkes/ 👍👍
Cheers Papa, and thanks for giving it all such a close listen.
Dots and Loops is easily my favourite Stereolab album as well, with Cobra etc in second place - the ones with the highest jazz content probably.
(And I like the feeling of starting to get plugged into a network of Mixclouders who find it completely natural to listen across genres of all kinds. It's not so much about liking exactly the same music as having a similar way of listening to music. )
P.S. While we're spreading the love...the best Mixcloud shows that I've come across for that whole Stereolab aesthetic are by Diagonals. They're in my following list if you want to investigate.
slow response; been away...
thanks for the pointer on Diagonals (their name figures!); am looking forward to investigating their uploads. be good there. P🥭
This went very well with my coffee this morning. Very nice track selection!
Thanks Furio, much appreciated.
(And if anyone else turns out to like this mix, then I'm going to recommend the Jazz For Nighthawkes set over at Furio's page for a back-to-back.)
