The Scratch Radio Refresh - Lizzie and Hannah Drive Time

In January 2017 for two weeks 30 students took over Birmingham City University’s student radio. Over these two weeks I was a producer for 12 different specialist shows across multiple genres. This role responsibilities included overseeing the shows whilst they were being recorded, social media, coming up with content ideas, checking that levels and songs were of decent quality and making sure that the show abided to Scratch radio’s regulations as well as Ofcom’s. Within this role I gained skills and knowledge on how to produce radio but also working in the studios and on software like Myriad and Adobe Audition.

The drive time show included different items which we made sure were targeted at students, we came up with cooking games and debates as we realised students would be cooking at that time or thinking about what to cook.
