This mix is named after and inspired by the final track, a brilliant jazz and spoken word piece by Ambrose Akinmusire. I’ll let it speak for itself. The rest of the mix brings together some of my favourite African American music with bits of this and that from the UK which seemed to fit nicely. Jazz, soul, hip-hop, footwork, grime. There’s also a short exert from an interview with Gill Scott Heron .... and Maya Angelou recounting a meeting with Tupac.
