1936 Egypt: The Sidni el Jamesa Hotel, a rundown establishment with echoes of its former colonial glory set by a fly blown railway halt on the Imperial Aswan to Cairo line. Purchased a year ago by a mysterious inventor of mechanical marvels and emigre from turbulent Germany, it is now a magnet for the eclectic and bohemian; artists, musicians, cabaret performers and circus acts.
By night, the Hotel becomes the Casbah Swing Club, playing E-Swing, cabaret electronica and the exotic from all points of the compass.
