Mixtape #17 | Curses

Curses is the nocturnal moniker of producer Luca Venezia, formerly known as the rock n' rave bass-puppeteer Drop the Lime. The born and bred New Yorker has been synonymous with the city's dance music scene since 2003 - casting spells over clubs and festivals around the world, remixing the likes of Major Lazer, Robyn and Moby and producing for artists like T. Mills, Spankrock and Bosco Del Rey.

Responding to the flourishing after-hours house and techno scene of his home town, Venezia formed the late-night focused label Safer At Night, along with fellow Gotham producers Total Fitness and DKDS. Infusing dark house & techno influences with ambient and cinematic soundscapes, and his mixtape reflects that. Number seventeen in the series delves into dance floor territory where only few dare to tread, enrobing you in an icy blanket of darkly atmospheric techno that will keep you thriving throughout the nigh.
