High Voltage Hardcore 2001

This one is not for the faint of heart. There were several inspirations for this mix. First and foremost I was trying to impress Belladonnakillz, and join his Smerk party. I was succesful in doing so. This mix was made in October and I played at their party in November. For those who aren't familiar, Peter was a Canadian hardcore legend. He was a DJ and also front man for an aggressive live electronica act. Another influence on this mix is Dominik, another rave legend. He is the first Toronto DJ to successfully market himself as a four-on-the-floor hardcore DJ. And finally it should be noted that Uziq a.k.a. Kid Spatula had played at Lee's Palace the previous year. As a second set, he played all oldschool jungle and gabber, which was an exciting surprise for me.
