A selection of sweet laid-back revive cuts from across the eras, mostly JA but also a couple of UK ones in there. I really love the raw groove of these kind of tunes, with so much space in the bass line… I love my steppers like any next man but this one drop-style rhythm and bass is the essence of Reggae music for me....my first musical love :) . Many classics in this one including cuts from Burning Spear, Dennis Brown, Claudius Linton and the Itals. But also some slightly more underrated ones here and there, including a lovely early cut of a Culture classic by a (very) young Glen Washington. Altogether, quite a few killers in my opinion, like Blue Bells 'Only Jah Knows' and a couple Freddie McKay scorchers.... even a little gem from the Gong. Mainly 7s here, with their version included where available and not too scratchy no whatchee.

I can't believe it!! I have that one too somewhere. As I said..... my memory! Thanks for your lovely reply on my other comment, glad you've enjoyed my sets in the past but when it comes to roots you've got the edge on me - some DEEP DEEP tunes on your sets!!!!
What's the tune after The Bluebells "Only Jah Know/version"? I've heard it before and my middle aged memory is failing me right now!
haha, you're not alone there!
Blue bells - live as one same band & label as the previous one (blue star- but also repressed by the Swiss guys Reggae Fever on Premier)
Take care

Oh shit (excuse the language), no i'm not!! I just though the irish images may have been putting people off so went with something slightly more accessible!! Thanks for the heads up, i'd be getting 'copyrighted' or something from some angry selectors!!!!
Haha! Not were I was going with that one.. I was just curious. It seems like quite a big commercial platform that world a reggae, with a funny guy interviewing people... never really knew about it before
Just running through all your offerings, giving thanks for the content! Hearing tunes i've not heard for 20+ years alongside material i've never heard before..
Keep 'em coming!
Respect Paddy, that warms my heart! Wicked selections on your page too mate!

Fire, love the Joe Higgs tune
Cheers Olbi, yes, good foundation tune. Different cuts of this one were repressed by Pressure Sounds a while back, beautiful tunes too
