With the sun shining and the end of summer coming in up here… I put together a selection of sweet and uplifting One Drop tunes. The kind to sway to with a hand up in the air and a smile of contemplation on our faces. Though maybe not as militant and deep as some productions, these are beautiful heart-felt cuts with a conscious message, powerful melodies/arrangements and highly infectious one drop groves… Not to be underestimated!!! Cool & Deadly all the way.
Kicking off with a beautiful acoustic guitar Kalonji cut showcasing his true talent and potential when he’s not in angry mode… a real grower. A few ‘big riddim’ excursions, sometimes with a nod to the original foundation cut: Jah live, Jerusalem (check the killer Romain Virgo mix- big up Tek9 movements) and Three blind mice. A few all time classics too like Picture on the wall and Crucial times… A quirky but killer recent UK production too featuring Ras Boomba…. Enjoy.
