Today we're celebrating an upcoming release from James Murray, Heavenly Waters, out on September 29th, on his own Slowcraft Records, so naturally, I have invited Murray to showcase his wares, just for you. Here are some words from James:
"Once in a blue moon, I compile a mix, always ensuring I give the narrative, track selection and each and every transition my full, unhurried attention. In other words, I like to get them just right. They’re usually loosely themed and often coincide with an album release. Also, for the first time and at the suggestion of Headphone Commute, my solo contributions are not studio recordings but live improvised versions of tracks from the new record. It’s the first time I’ve taken this live approach to a mix and it may very well not be the last."

Perfect!
Narcissism & Doubts by Peter Levics is a beautiful combination of cello continuo and guitar harmonies. I would totally love to use this single in a mix.
gorgeous vocal solo at 10min with nice instrumental backdrop. Celestial...
Very nice instrumental groove at the 6min mark. It was gratifying to hear it come together. Thanks for choosing that track.
Beautiful journey - dark as a pocket...deep water swimming, light fish darting...towards the end I wanted to be sitting in "Ricks Cafe" - drinking a dry martini, smoking a Turkish cigarette while waiting for a mystery or a man...(maybe both) to unfold. This mix felt like a soundtrack to an alternate universe where anything was possible. I prefer all things deep and dark. Perfect for 2:00 Am drifting. Thanks so much for a great trip through the looking glass.
I concur wholeheartedly with Alice...dark as a pocket...how poetic merci, dor bien
Highly recommended to any urban deep divers, great work! Cheers. C.
lovely song at minute 50. what is it? reminds me of Gunshae.
Fieldem - Stijn Huwels + James Murray (unreleased)
