Pity the Children
A PassW0rd radio podcast about the relationship of technology to children. In this podcast we look at the ways that the technology industry looks at children and whether it has an ethical stance or whether it simply sees children as the entry point to selling its products.
We found that children could represent the start of a frightening increase in mental issues because of their absorption with technology.
The podcast interviews some of the leading lights of technology including Aza Raskin, children’s platform maker Bjorn Jeffrey and Chris Messina, the man who invented the concept of the hashtag, specialists in mental issues like Elinor Samuelsson, children’s rights advocates such as Jen Persson and UK politician Ian Lucas on the issues that technology is creating and what is being done about it.
