I'm pretty sure that when I first started using Mixcloud it would only stream down at 128k so my uploads have been made at 128k/AAC but I have now established that if you want to avoid transcoding you get optimum results by uploading in mp3 format at anything up to 320k. This sequence was rendered and uploaded at 320k and streams back identically.
Future programmes will be uploaded as mp3s at bit rates between 192 - 320k which will result in a smoother, more detailed sound quality.
