Late Shift Extra - ReAnimate

Late Shift Extra - ReAnimate

For this week's Throwback Thursday, we thought we'd share with you a podcast we produced nearly three years ago to the day!

ReAnimate was an event that happened at the National Portrait Gallery on 5th August 2011, as part of the Gallery's Late Shift series. It was curated by Martyn Ware of Illustrious and Karen Pearson from Folded Wing.

Inspired by the Gallery’s Road to 2012 exhibition, which celebrated the athletes and those working behind the scenes who made the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games happen, ReAnimate was a night of sensory stimulation exploring the body, movement and the senses.

Artistic collaborations and interventions of live music, sound art, film, performance, and philosophy took over the Gallery, animating spaces, portraits and visitors.

As well as curating and producing the event with Martyn and Illustrious, Folded Wing also produced this podcast about what took place on the night.
