Join Flotation Device as we survey newly-excavated gems of 1970s creative music from two all-star quartets led by Julius Hemphill and Michael Gregory Jackson (who joins us to share his reminiscences). We also say goodbye to the late Paul Taub, a much-loved anchor of the PNW’s new music community. And we survey a batch of new composed, fixed-media, ambient and vocal tracks, plus the latest Georg Friedrich Haas album from NEOS Music with Sophie-Mayuko Vetter playing a quarter-tone piano piece that reflects the influence of his precursor Wyschnegradsky. Creative and improvised music with host Michael Schell.
