This mix started to take form whilst I was flicking through old copies of 1980's and 1990's magazines and fanzines and subsequently I dug out some of the bands and artists that I had been reading about. In homage to Freakbeat magazine, Ptolemaic Terrascope and Bucketful of Brains as well as those heady pre-internet days of mail order record catalogues like the Freak Emporium and Rustic Rod's mail order service.
This mix includes just a handful of the bands/artists that were featured in these idiosyncratic publications and many of the labels of the time such as UK's Delirium and Woronzow as well as September Gurls, Vox, Bomp and Elephant 6 from across the pond.
