Decolonising the Curriculum

Decolonising the Curriculum

In the third installment of the Feminist Library podcast series - focusing on efforts to decolonize the curriculum and its implications. In the wake of the death of George Floyd, the world-wide Black Lives Matter protests of the summer of 2020 amplified increasing demands to uncover the brutal colonial legacies of past and present and gave way to the questioning of the over-arching structures of oppression that perpetuate the supremacy of white Western knowledge systems and its constructed histories. We will reflect on what decolonizing the curriculum means, the importance of decolonizing academia in particular and knowledge production more broadly, and how to move beyond theory to generate a decolonial praxis.

This episode includes guest contributions from Jael de la Luz, Janine François and Mrin Roy. Hosted by Shanelle Callaghan; produced by Caterina Simao, Emma Horton- Mastin and Shanelle Callaghan; editors/engineers are Rosie Krause , Emma Horton-Mastin and Flurina Henkler.
