I don't know if its the end of the cold snap or the heroic NHS vaccine roll out but, walking across a misty Hampstead Heath this morning, I felt the return of a unusual, half forgotten emotion - the faintest glimmer of optimism. Call me a crazy dreamer but I felt so lifted for a moment that I managed to block out the oppressive presence of annoying posh families with even more annoying dogs and, instead, toyed with the idea of a new life that finally almost seemed within reach. Then it started raining.
But no need to worry because, with the likes of Donna Summer and Common Saints, Makersmark will transport you to a warm beer garden with a late Spring sun on your back and a cold pint in your hand as you begin to imagine a Zoom-free world removed from this tedious nightmare. And yes, of course, it will probably be raining then too.

Excellent show Mark. Came back to visit this yet again and then realised I hadn't commented (sorry, I'm useless).
Really ace 2 hours but that Soul Saver record really really did it for me. Sublime
Loved this one, can't get enough of "At The Motel", such an intriguing track. Sorry for the late feedback, I first listened the day it came out!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed... any feedback is good for me!
Good selection Mark. Lots of favourites including: Sonia, Payfone, Soul Saver – Another Day, Lee Fields & The Expressions and Ability II.
Ta
3 Chairs amazing track that. What happened to the raunchy comment btw? :)
Thanks Danny.
I guess we're getting so popular we're now being targeted by sex-bots and spam!
Great show Mark. That Gerald Mitchell track is so good, as is the 3 Chairs. Pressure Dub as well, but all good.
Yeah, Los Hermanos strike again! Nice one...
A light and bright feeling to this show, so very nice and timely. The Orb, Dynamics (great cover, though I don't quite agree that it tops the original), Trevor Dandy, Lee Fields, Eunice Collins and Lianne La Havas particularly pleasing to these ears. Happy Birthday to your Special Requester.
The sun is now shining here, snow has almost melted... my plan worked! Thanks as always.
Great show Mark, a proper mood lifter that mate. Lovely two hours spent this afternoon and given a nice little bump. Big ups to Barbara Mason, Soul Saver, Eunice Collins, Tony Allen and the Ability II bassline obvs!! As we discussed elsehwere once, even the tunes you think you know really well always sound better when they turn up in someone's else mix/show (Donna and Deniece - ace). Cheers for the shout/dedication too (that's a killer EP!)
Thanks Phil - as always, appreciate the listen and ears! I must admit to having reservations about playing State of Independence (overplayed etc) but it sounded so, so good when I played it, I couldn't resist.
