In the summer of 2008 a man in Orkney received a response to a long forgotten message he had sent in a bottle some 23 years previously. In this composed feature, perhaps the most non-instant messaging device is explored, revealing the stories of those who send and receive these messages, often geographically oceans and generations apart.
