Melodic techno mix

A recent development in techno is the incorporation of melodies, trance infusion and grasping back to the 90s rave period, when electronic music was rapidly developing into different genres. After the minimal techno movement in the 00s and the industrial techno of the 10s, techno seems to look back to the time where mainly the European scenes were driving the progression of different styles: trance and hardcore for instance. For a long time these genres were considered as having lost their associations with the house and techno movements in the US, but now these sounds are being brought back into the fold and expanded on. Trance-like melodies, hardcore bass and acid lines are all back in the mix as promoted by DJs such as Charlotte de Witte and Reinier Zonneveld, including remixes of well known 90's tracks and the re-emergence of artists such as Kai Tracid.
