This was the first solo mix compilation I put out that was Frenchcore. (Genocide Suicide w/ Elektroholic came first) I wasn't sure if I would be able to make it sound ok, or be able to mix it at all. Learning how to mix Frenchcore is a little trickier than a lot of other electronic music. At least the way I do it is I have to break down speeds in my head at real-time. A lot of Frenchcore start out with a hip hop beat, building up and then finally going into a steady 4 on the floor. And that's before the first breakdown and everything. So timing is critical. It took a lot of patience and practice to become confident enough to start playing Frenchcore. I believe it's paid off because it adds a different flavor of Hardcore to what's already being played around here. Most people are used to Dutch/Mainstream, or Industrial Hardcore. This seems to have evolved from Old Style & Happy Gabber in the 90s. Lots of the same producers too. Class dismissed.
