Businesses are struggling to find employees with the knowledge and skills to meet their workforce needs. To address the technology skills gap, Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, has taken the lead in designing the TechSet program, a nine-week, intensive training program in workforce readiness. The pilot project focuses on economically disadvantaged college students from universities serving Northern Virginia. It combines instruction and hands-on mentorship to help students develop the essential skills students will need to be ready for the workplace upon graduation.
