Educator S. L. Young shares teaching strategies that emphasize student collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and communication. Young encourages students to be active, not passive learners. Young is the president and founder of Saving Our Communities At Risk Through Educational Services (SOCARTES) and, beginning in 2013, has taught over 300 inmates introductory business courses at the Arlington County Detention Center.
