In the context of early adulthood, this 13 stories mix explores the power of fantasy, imagination, collective joy and space; and how the way we tell stories forms the path our lives take.
A selection of original work produced by Tea Jahja, Teri Jahja, Rhoda Akindele, Bethany Wilson Ward, Sonia Foday and the TACO Belles
13 stories was a group of 16-25 year olds who met weekly at RTM.fm radio in Thamesmead, South East London from 2021-2022 to explore personal storytelling, experimenting with sound, public space & community radio. Facilitated by artist Dunya Kalantery.
It was formed out of a desire to amplify local young voices by a Participation Action Research group of 16-19 y/olds on Public Space, Care, and Knowledge.
The work in this mix was originally produced for RTM.fm; commissioned by London Borough of Bexley as part of a 3 year engagement project towards the opening of the Thamesmead Library. Funded by Arts Council England, with support from Peabody, Bow Arts and TACO!
